Amit Soni is an actor and has been a radio jockey. He hails from Pinahat, Agra.
Recalling his childhood, Amit says he used to perform in Ram-Leela acts under the direction of his guru, Mohan Singh Tomar. Later, he came to Agra and started distributing pamphlets for a living. He also prepared for banking exams, but he failed. His father advised him to do a job, but he left after three months. Amit says he had always wanted to do something creative. Afterwards, he joined Rang lok Sanskritik Sansthan, Agra. Then,he came to know about a vacancy in the radio station. At first, he didn’t get the job because of his language. However, he tried again and got a job as a radio jockey. He also worked at Aapki Awaaz in Alwar.
Amit moved to Mumbai in 2015 and participated in an Abhiruchi theater workshop, but he didn't see any progress and so he made the decision to return to Agra and work at Rang Lok Sanskritik Sansthan. After a year, he went to Delhi and worked at 91.2 FM for four years. He also worked in different shows such as ‘Anandi Gaanv ki Laadli’ and ‘Tiwari Ji ka launda.’ He also worked in advertisements for Meesho and Amazon.
Talking about his challenges, Amit says, as he belonged to a middle-class family, his father never supported him financially to opt for acting as a career. Sometimes he didn’t get paid for his work. He also got depressed, but hope kept him alive.
Amit advises struggling actors to remain optimistic and to continue working. He says we should communicate with our friends and fight for our dreams. He also suggests listening to music when feeling low.

Apart from acting and theater, Amit also likes to write.
