Amit manifested his knack for finance by working successfully in various sectors and finally joining a Bank.

Amit Singhal is a Regional Manager at ICICI Bank.

Originally from Jaipur, Amit has been residing in Bhilwara since a long time. He did his schooling in various cities around Rajasthan due to his father being in a transferable job. He graduated in the Commerce stream from Bhilwara.

Talking about his professional journey, Amit says that he has 23 years long working experience in various sectors like finance, insurance, telecom, etc. He started his career in the finance sector and then switched to the insurance sector for about five years. Finally, he switched to the banking sector in 2011 with the ICICI Bank as an Assistant Manager and gradually rose to the post of Regional Manager.

Amit says that his professional journey has not been particularly smooth. He says he had to struggle to get his first job only to get one that paid just two hundred rupees a month. He further says that he made a professional mistake of oversharing while working at Mahindra in 2002 following which he had to quit the job, which, he says, fortunately helped him grow. However, he says, his experience in various fields helped him sail through his professional challenges.

Speaking of his achievements in life, Amit says that in his banking career, he got promoted three times in ten years which is a big feat for him. He further shares that while working in TATA in 2007, he was commended twice by a senior in a forum which is also a moment of accomplishment for him. On a personal level, Amit says he has a fulfilling life with mental peace which he feels proud about.

Advising budding finance professionals, Amit says that if you are desirous of  learning it would never stop for you regardless of your field. He further adds that you should have in-depth knowledge about a field to join it.

Talking about his mentors, Amit says that both his parents have been his first mentors in life, who kept motivating him throughout his professional journey. He is also grateful to his wife for always being by his side and constantly encouraging him in times of doubt. In his professional life, he has many mentors namely - Mr. Vikrant and Mr. Manoj Jaiswal, who always kept guiding him to the right path.

When free, Amit prefers spending time with his family, travelling, visiting temples, and doing meditation to refresh his mind.
