A passionate dancer from Delhi, Amit Kumar found his love for dance overshadowing his interest in studies early on. Inspired by Michael Jackson, he spent his childhood dancing with pure joy. However, the journey to becoming a professional dancer was filled with obstacles.

Amit Kumar hails from Delhi. He is a passionate dancer, choreographer, and owner of a dance academy, and brings with him twelve years of rich experience in the field.

Amit Kumar attended a government school in Delhi, where his interest in studies was overshadowed by his love for dance. He fondly recalls dancing without any worries during his childhood, an experience that was pure and joyous. His inspiration stemmed from watching Michael Jackson, which sparked his interest and passion for dance.

Recalling his early struggles, Kumar mentions that back then, there were few reputable dance institutes, and their fees were prohibitively high. He resorted to watching dance videos on YouTube at a cyber café to learn and improve his skills. Gradually, he found like-minded individuals and formed a group. With no proper place to practice, they utilized parks, practicing tirelessly all day. It was during this period that they learned about dance events and auditions, opening up opportunities to showcase their talent.

Amit Kumar and his group began participating in events, and with some financial inflow, they took up part-time jobs and eventually pooled their resources to start their own dance academy. Amit's dedication and hard work paid off, leading to significant achievements. He proudly shares that he had the honor of preparing an Indian Army group for a dance performance on Republic Day, a milestone in his career. Additionally, he found fulfillment in motivating cancer patients at a hospital. His team has won numerous competitions, although they have yet to break into television reality shows.

Amit draws immense inspiration from his father, who left his village for the city to secure a better future for his children. Amit deeply respects his father's struggles and the sacrifices he made, describing them as beyond words.

The COVID-19 pandemic brought mixed experiences for Amit. Initially, he cherished the extra time spent with his family. However, as the lockdown prolonged, challenges mounted. Two out of the three dance academies he was running had to shut down, presenting a harsh and difficult period in his life.

Amit Kumar advises the youth to approach any endeavor with a stable mind and to work diligently towards their set goals.

In his free time, he indulges in photography and animation, finding joy in capturing moments and creating visual stories. He also reflects on his past mistakes, learning from them to avoid repeating them in the future.
