Amit Khandelwal started his journey in the stock market in 2010, leading him to co-found Backbone Finvest Private Limited in Kolkata, specializing in comprehensive financial services.

Amit says that in 2010, he  enrolled in a technical course taught by Gautam Majumdar, his initial guide in this field. He further honed his skills under the guidance of Mr. Nandi and Mr. Sharma.

He highlights the dynamic nature of the stock market, where daily earnings are possible. He acknowledges that initially he had to face a time of scarcity, yet attributes his present success to the transformative power of the stock market.

Amit advises everyone to invest time in researching about mutual funds or stocks. He stresses the need to study the market's cyclical nature with its fluctuations and advocates dedicating at least five years to investments. For young people, he advises investing in mutual funds. Individuals aged forty and above are advised to diversify investments between fixed deposits and mutual funds in both large and mid-cap sectors. For those even older, he recommends focusing on  investing in large-cap companies..

He finds motivation from his Marwari background. Seeing his cousin and elder brother do well in the stock market encouraged him to join the field too.

Reflecting on his childhood, Amit says that he was born and brought up in Bardhaman, West Bengal and completed his schooling there only. After graduating with a B.Com honors degree, he fully embraced the stock market. He holds fond memories of his carefree days, from enjoying lollipops to ice cream. He says that even today he and his childhood friends occasionally reunite. One vivid memory involves his time as an NCC cadet, where a night time encounter with a snake instilled a life-long fear of snakes in him.

Amit looks up to Gautam Majumdar and Shubhojit Nandi as his role models. He says that he finds motivation in the songs "Chak De India" and "Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander."

Amit acknowledges facing challenges in life. Before 2010, financial constraints limited his educational opportunities. He observed how people's attitudes shift based on financial status, including changes in his extended family's behavior. However, he emphasizes that his friends have remained constant throughout.

His proudest accomplishment is fulfilling his mother's dream of owning a house. He says that he owns a 1500 square feet home in a posh area. He wishes to fulfill all her dreams.
