Starting his cricket journey from his early school days, Amir is now on the path of becoming a PE teacher and aspires to coach young cricketers.

Amir Raza Khan is an aspiring cricketer and coach from Jharkhand.

Amir was born in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. His school life started at DAV School. His journey in cricket also started from there itself. In 2009, he played a cricket season and took 38 wickets. Then he gave an under-16 trial and was put on standby in the team. He also performed well in the Dhanbad Premier League but nothing positive came out of it.

Amir says that in an unfortunate incident, he was banned for five years due to some discrepancy related to his date of birth. Hence, after his 12th standard, he went to Amravati, Maharashtra to pursue B.P.Ed. Amir says that there also he started playing university games and was performing well.

He was also selected for the team for the under-20 district tournament but was sidelined as he was from a different state and not from Maharashtra. Amir laments that still there are many divisions practiced in India on the basis of caste and other factors which many times resulted in his downfall.

Amir shares that now he has shifted to Guwahati, Assam, and is thinking of starting some business there.

Talking about his struggles, Amir says apart from the discrimination faced by him on various grounds, there were other struggles in his life as well. He used to sell his books to buy cricket requisites so that he could practice. However, once his name came in the newspaper, his family also started supporting his interest in cricket.

Talking about his inspirations in life, Amir says that his coach Shahid sir taught him everything and also used to call him ‘Raza’ which Amir uses as a middle name now. He is also motivated by players like M. S. Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh.

Amir says that his hobby was cricket and now he is focused on completing his B.P.Ed and becoming a physical education teacher.
