Alpana’s father wanted her to become an ayurvedic doctor but that couldn’t happen. Yet she specialized in traditional edible products suitable for pregnant women .

Alpana Tiwari is the founder of ‘Nuskha Kitchen’ in Jaipur. In Nuskha Kitchen, Alpana produces nutritional products which are good for women in their prenatal and postnatal stages. These products are based on traditional knowledge passed on down the ages by our grandmothers.

Alpana says that initially it was quite difficult for her to convince the grandmothers of pregnant young women who wanted to buy her products,  about the products' authenticity and quality. It was challenging for her to win people’s trust and so she did this work on a charity basis for ten years. About three years ago she took it as a business. But gradually, people started believing in her products and her client base started increasing and has reached a good position today.

Alpana was born in Kota and did her partial schooling from there. Then she moved to Jaipur and completed her education from there. She got married as soon as she graduated and could not do anything for being engaged in household chores full time. Later, she desired to do something of her own. She says four generations of her family have been ayurveda practitioners. She used her ayurveda experience to run her business which proved to be quite successful for her.

Alpana considers her grandfather, father and maternal uncle as her role models because she has received all the knowledge about ayurveda from them.

Alpana says that she had a great COVID experience because together with her team of ayurvedic doctors, she made many products to fight Covid. They were not only bought by the general public but also by medical practitioners and doctors.  Her business also got a good boost because markets were closed but her pregnancy related products were always available.

Alpana says that her products have always got five star ratings so far and she has received a lot of appreciation from her customers for her products and this initiative, which is an achievement for her.

If she is able to go back in time via a Time Machine, she would like to gain more knowledge about ayurvedic products.

To anyone who wants to get into this business, Alpana suggests to them that sales and marketing is an easy task. But you should have a good knowledge of the products and you should provide the best quality products as the recovery and lives of young pregnant women depend on these products.

In her spare time, Alpana loves helping the poor, doing social work and listening to old Hindi songs.
