Driven by his ambitions, Alkesh faced all his struggles and challenges head-on to create his own identity in his community and also set an example for others.

Alkesh Kumar Lohiya owns a printing and designing business.

Alkesh hails from Balotra, a city in Barmer.  He received his school and college education in Balotra itself. He did his bachelors from MBR Govt. College.

Alkesh shares that after tenth grade, he wanted to pursue either medicine or law. But, at the age of fifteen, he got inclined toward printing and designing. He says he did not have a computer, however, to pursue his interest he installed the relevant design software on his friend’s and cousin’s computers and would learn designing by working on them.

Sharing about his career progression, Alkesh says that he started his first job right after his bachelors. Later, he started working in partnership with his cousin. But due to some personal issues, he left the partnership and took up a job instead. However, he was not well paid for the job, and it prompted him to do something of his own.

Talking about his struggles, Alkesh shares that when he ventured out on his own, initially, he had to struggle a lot financially. He didn’t have his own computer to work on. He then took a loan from a bank and bought a laptop for himself.

Besides, he also had to face a lot of obstacles thrown at him by people who saw him as their competitor. And owing to that, he had to surrender to his circumstances and shut down the printing work that he started in Ahmedabad. He had to come back to his hometown and take up a job at a textile manufacturer there. He worked in that job for about four years and then settled in Jodhpur. He then started working in a marketing role and later switched to another job. He had to face a lot of challenges in the jobs that he did thereafter. And eventually, he decided to do something of his own once again.

When asked about his role models, Alkesh says that he considers Subhash Mehta who works as the director of Vimal Stock in his region, his role model. Besides, he acknowledges that his wife always supported him and he also learned a lot from his father.

In his spare time, Alkesh likes to go to the gym, watch movies and cartoons and listen to music.

When asked about his success mantra, Alkesh says that he doesn’t have a success mantra as such. He just works determinedly to fulfill his dreams.

Alkesh advises people to be stubborn to fulfill their dreams.

To people aspiring to begin their own printing and designing work, Alkesh tells them that they can start with minimal capital as it doesn’t require a lot of money initially to start the business. Besides, he advises them to work with the right clients to receive payments on time.

To the youth, Alkesh advises them not to wait for the right time and instead just do what they want to do. Besides, he advises them to be determined to fulfill their aspirations and dreams.
