Alka Sharma desired to become a lecturer in Sanskrit. She feels that teaching is a field which requires dedication and a calm mind.

Alka Sharma is a teacher of Sanskrit.

Alka started her journey as a teacher in 2007. Till 2010, she taught at Sri Ram Madhyamik Vidyalaya in Udaipur. From 2011 to 2014, she taught at St. Teresa Senior Secondary School.

Talking about her schooling, Alka says that she did her 10th standard from Saraswati Niketan Sr. Sec. School. Her 11th and 12th standards were completed at Residency School. She completed her graduation and post-graduation from MLSU.

Alka shares that for coming into the field of teaching, one has to do B.Ed. and then also have knowledge of computer technology which came in handy during the COVID time. She shares that she also learned about online teaching by watching her son do the same during the lockdown.

Talking about COVID, Alka says that she got very low and unmotivated sitting locked in her home. She was also surrounded by the fear of the disease and did not step out at all. However, now things have relaxed and she has also resumed her work.

Alka feels that education is needed to get that first job so that one can start gaining experience. Till a person will not get their first break, they will not be able to get experience and that is where good education comes into play.

Alka says that a good leader should be able to convey their thoughts clearly to others and also understand their point-of-view properly. Also, a good teacher should be both friendly and strict with their students and should solve their problems strategically.

Alka says that she was inspired by professors of her college and always wanted to be a lecturer in college. However, things didn't turn out that way and she could not become one. However, she is very happy today that she got to be a teacher and is giving her contribution in building the nation's future.

Talking about her role model, Alka says that her mother is the one. Her mother was not much educated but her nature and behavior inspired Alka a lot and she is inspired by her mother.

If given a Time Machine, she would like to go back to her college life and enjoy it once again with her friends.
