A musician and music director, Alankar has dedicated his entire life to the promotion of Indian art and culture, for which he also started an academy. He feels that his life is incomplete without music.

Alankar Tailang is a musician, music composer, and owner of Alankar’s Academy.

Alankar belongs to Jaipur and is currently residing in Bikaner.

Recalling his childhood, Alankar says that he started learning music when he was just two and a half years old. His parents learned about his dance talent when he performed on stage at a carnival and encouraged him to learn to dance. He says that his mother is also a classical music artist, and his parents supported him mentally, physically, and emotionally. He was always fascinated by classical art and never missed any opportunity to learn new things from his teachers. He learned Kathak under the guidance of his gurus, Shri Girdhari Maharaj, Ustad Ahmed Hussain, and Ustad Ramzan Khan. He can play 13 kinds of musical instruments. He did an MA in Indian and Western classical music. He also did a master's in Kathak. He knows 29 western forms of dance.

Alankar says that he started his own academy in Bikaner, where he is dedicated to developing an individual's creative capabilities to be used in a variety of life situations.

Talking about his achievements, Alankar says he takes pride in performing on the same stage as Pt. Birju Maharaj in the same show. He got the opportunity to meet well-known and learned artists in the field. He was in the top three in the ‘Golden Voice of Rajasthan’. He feels blessed to have such supportive parents and gurus. His outlook towards life has always been positive. He says that his wife always has his back and also helps him run his institution. He also feels elated to have a talented son.

Sharing about his mistakes, Alankar says that mistakes are bound to happen, and he too has made many mistakes in life. He feels that we should not get stuck but move on in life and learn from our mistakes.

When asked about his role models, Alankar says that he had different role models at different phases of life. He appreciates all the artists in the music industry.

Alankar’s life mantra is to dream big. He says that his hunger for knowledge is his motivation in life. He advises everyone to find their own stability without offending anyone.
