Akshay is in the field of Art and runs his family business, Ashoka Arts. He is a CA by education and advocates having an alternate plan in life before pursuing any dream or passion.

Akshay Mehta is from Udaipur and runs his family business, Ashoka Arts. He says that this business is 45 years old and was started by his father. Akshay joined it after completing his CA in 2013.

Akshay shares that he has a team of 75 artists who perform different tasks according to their skill level. They also have many women artisans working for Ashoka Arts.

Akshay did his schooling from The Study, Udaipur. After that he pursued CA and after clearing this, joined his father. He says that he was a good student in school. He was also felicitated by Arvind Singh Ji Mewar for scoring the fifth rank in Udaipur in his 12th.

Akshay shares that from a very early age he had an interest in Drawing and Arts. However, his father insisted upon him to complete his studies first before joining the family business. Akshay says that they also run Hotels and Restaurants in Udaipur. His wife is also a CA and is working in her professional field.

Akshay laments that during the Covid, his business was badly affected. His sale is mostly because of tourists and due to the lockdown situation, their number fell drastically. The hotel business was also adversely hurt. Akshay says that his artisans who work on a daily basis were the most affected by it.

Art is a passion for Akshay. However, he had many doubts regarding its feasibility and future prospects while joining this field. His father always vouched for a backup plan.

He says that there has not been any major achievement in his life. He considers all milestones in his life like getting a CA Degree and living in a joint family as achievements to look up to.

His father is his role model. Akshay feels that the stable life that they have at the moment is due to his father and his hard work. Akshay says that his father’s patience is remarkable and worth learning.

According to Akshay, a leader should set an example by working himself and letting their juniors learn from them. A leader should keep his team intact and listen to everyone’s opinion.

To students  who are pursuing CA, Akshay urges them to be patient and dedicated. He says that it is a tough field and it might take several attempts in completing it. However, one should not lose hope and keep trying till the end.

Akshay says that one should not stop working till the very end. Hard work and persistence will definitely help in covering miles and miles.

He likes to read books and play Chess in his free time.
