Akhilesh Kumar is the State Business Head of Buzil Rossari, a company dealing with cleaning and hygiene products. He is heading the company’s business application and technology department for Rajasthan.
Belonging to the Arrah district of Bihar, Akhilesh remembers his fondest childhood memory. He says that his father dropped him into a boarding school and he cried a lot that day. He had a similar experience again when leaving that boarding school, after completing his studies, the only difference was the reversal of roles.
Speaking about his career journey, Akhilesh says that he started with a role in the sales and circulation department of the Times of India newspaper. He soon moved on to his next role in the banking sector, but circumstances forced him to take a break from professional life for a good two years.
In 2014, he took up the challenge of bringing back his professional life on track. It was particularly difficult as he had to circumvent his ego since he was getting paid less compared to his job when he left in 2012. He kept going strong in his new job and climbed the career ladder.
His belief in the ethos of nature and draws inspiration from the footsteps of his father. In his low times, he likes to follow Gayatri Mantra, the teachings of his guru, his teachers from his school and college life. He likes to take the positive lessons from life and move forward on this journey.

For people aspiring to come into the cleaning and hygiene industry, he says that it is important to understand the work at the ground level. To be able to cater to the users accordingly, it is important to see how they will use the products of your company, and the best way to do it is to try them on your own. Akhilesh says that one must not think of a work as minor, especially in context to the hygiene or the cleaning industry.
The key skills to get into the cleaning and hygiene industry is presentation, technical know-how of products, application knowledge, and auditing experience, says Akhilesh. He also highlights the fact that anyone who has the fire to learn will do great in this field.
Speaking on his upbringing, he says that coming from a humble middle-class farming-family, the aspiration of his parents for him was to go in the civil service examination. He says that coming from a family in Bihar, it becomes even more important culturally to aim to become an IAS officer. For this reason, he says that if he ever gets a chance to go back in time, he will aim to clear a UPSC exam.
Akhilesh says that he enjoys going on long drives in his free time, and whenever he has more time with him, he likes visiting his hometown. He enjoys going on strolls on his farm, among the cattle he has in his hometown.
