Akash Das Vaishnav used to be a bus driver and worked in the tourism industry. Due to Corona, he was assigned the duty during the pandemic to drop off people from one district to another where forty government buses were engaged. He did this work for more than a month having no proper arrangements for food.
Akash says after the lockdown happened, all the people had reached their respective places and the travel agencies were affected badly as there was no work. The buses were standing at his house for a long time and as there was no income in that field so he decided to leave that job and tried for another one.
Akash went to his brother, who was already working in the Fire Department and referred Akash to work as a truck driver and ever since Akash has been working there. He had a passion for driving a fire truck from the very beginning and after coming here, his passion got fulfilled. He says when he got the first opportunity of extinguishing a fire, he was scared and nervous at first but when he did it he gained his confidence and proceeded there after.
Akash says that he studied only till class 8th as after that his father expired and so he had to leave his studies. Since then he has been doing driver jobs in several industries like hotels, hospitals and tours and travels.
Akash’s role model is her mother because he feels that wherever he has reached today, it is only because of his mother.
Akash says that whenever he gets a fire call, he aims to reach the spot immediately and tries to get his work done as quickly as possible so as to cause least harm to people and property. He requests everyone that whenever you hear emergency sirens, please make space for the vehicle to pass on and give side to them so that they can do their work on time.
Akash is fond of listening to songs, especially Rajasthani songs and Bhajans. He loves cooking too.
If Akash ever gets a chance to go back in time, he would like to go back to his childhood and relive it.
