Akash Abhay Salve was born in Sevagram, Maharashtra. He did his schooling from Kasturba Vidya Mandir. He did his Junior College from J. B. Science College, Wardha.
Akash then opted for the field of Nursing and did his B.Sc. (Nursing) from Smt. Radhikabai Meghe Memorial College of Nursing. He has also done M.Sc. in the same field and MBA in Hospital Administration.
Akash is currently working as a Nursing Officer at Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital, Nagpur.
Akash shares that he is a Nursing Officer by profession but a Biker by passion. He loves riding bikes and going on long rides to new places all over India. He is known as ‘Wandering Soul Akki’ in the Bikers community.
Akash says that his Role Model is her mother who is also in the Nursing profession and has been serving people for the past thirty-five years. She has also been a single parent since when Akash was just five years old, and has seen those struggles as well. Akash says that he is also inspired a lot by Mahendra Singh Dhoni and John Abraham.
Akash shares that his first achievement in life was to become Mr. Fresher in his college. He was a persistent top five in his academics. Akash also received a Gold Medal in two subjects in his Masters. Akash says that he and his wife are also certified record holders for traveling 5400 kms in 21 days. They are the first Indian couple to do so. Also, his first media interaction with UCN Channel was also a big achievement for him.
Akash says that Covid was a tough time for them. He used to see people dying every day. The fatality during the second wave was even more. He used to get worried about his mother as well.
Akash says that people should get into this field only when they have a feeling of servitude and compassion for people. It is more of a service than a profession.
For Bikers, Akash has a message that everyone should take utmost care while riding. Akash is the promoter of Orange City Bikers Club and tries to propagate the message of safety through it. They also take up topics related to Environment and Society through their club.
Akash says that the line that summarizes his life and also motivates him is, “I work to save other’s lives and I ride to save my own.”
Akash says that he loves collecting things like Coins and Stamps. He used to collect Cricket Cards in his childhood as well. He also has a hobby of bringing souvenirs from places he visits.
