Ajay Nagar is an experienced HR professional with more than 29 years of experience in human resources management. Currently, he is working as the head of HR at the HRH Group of Hotels, Udaipur.

Ajay Nagar hails from the city of lakes, Udaipur. He was born and brought up here. He has completed his education in Udaipur.

Ajay says that from an early age he had to shoulder the responsibilities of his family. To support his family he would run a general store and pursue his studies alongside.After completing his education, he began his professional career in the textile industry. Later he joined the manufacturing sector and then the hospitality sector.

Ajay says that a turning point came in his life in 2006 when he had to suddenly leave Udaipur and go to Gurgaon. Everything was going well in his life until his father fell severely ill. He had to come back to Udaipur and look after his ailing father. Meanwhile, he was juggling between his job and shouldering his family responsibilities. When it became quite difficult for him he thought of doing a job in Udaipur itself. That’s when he got an opportunity in human resources management. It’s been 29 years of working as an HR professional and he is currently the HR head at HRH Group of Hotels, Udaipur.

To anyone who wants to make a career in human resources management, Ajay advises that one should have sound communication skills. Besides, one should be acquainted with labor laws and be patient in all situations to succeed in this field.

Ajay is of the opinion that there is a mismatch between what the industries demand and what is being taught at the colleges. Colleges don’t equip students with the relevant skill-sets to be job-ready.

With an aim of bridging the gap between the industry demands and the skills of the graduates, Ajay has started a short-term HR training course under the aegis of HR Foundation in Udaipur.
