Aditi is a Senior Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce at IIS University, Jaipur. She is also the founder of Flora Frenzy - a plant boutique and has a YouTube channel by the same name as her startup.
Aditi was born and raised in Rajasthan but she finds her roots in U.P. Her family was a service-class family which always put education on topmost priority. Aditi was a bright student. After completing her school education, she did her graduation from IIS University, Jaipur followed by an MBA from ICFAI University, Hyderabad.
After completing her MBA, she got a good job at a corporate bank in Delhi. Meanwhile, she also got married and had to settle in Jaipur. In Jaipur, she couldn’t find any job that could justify her profile, so she started teaching at IIS University which is her alma mater too. And it’s been twelve years of continued learning and teaching since she came into academia and she has taught many students and published numerous research papers. Besides, she is also the Coordinator of Theatre at the university.
Aditi believes in just putting in effort and not worrying about results. After working in academia for many years, she realised that she should do something of her own. She was always interested in plants and her love for plants resulted in her starting a plant boutique which was the first of its kind.
Aditi is an extrovert who likes to meet and interact with people. She says that doing theatre has exposed her to a lot of different people and taught her a lot.
Success for Aditi is about being happy and content. She says that being a woman entrepreneur is a motivation in itself for her. Aditi’s piece of advice to those who want to start something of their own is that don’t just plan it, act on your plan too. Besides, she says that it doesn’t mean that you should start only when you have all the resources and money, you can start small and then keep building on it. Furthermore, she says that it takes time before you can actually see some results in your venture so just hang in there even if you see some failures initially.
Aditi doesn’t consider any one person as her role model. Anybody who is hardworking inspires her. Her family is her source of energy and inspiration. She also acknowledges the support and constructive feedback that she receives from her husband in her business.
Aditi shares that in today’s time technology has penetrated the education sector. She says that gone are the days when one had to physically go to an institution to learn something. Now anything and everything can be learnt online, though she stresses that there is no substitute for in-person learning by attending physical classes and the learning institutions will always be relevant no matter the advancement of technology.
Aditi is optimistic that the plant boutique industry has a good future and there is a lot of scope and things to do in it.
Aditi is a mother to two kids. She says that at times juggling her roles as a mother, academician, and entrepreneur gets challenging for her as she is not able to give as much time to her kids as required.
Aditi shares that it was a tough decision to leave her corporate job and settle in Jaipur where the corporate sector wasn’t that developed but nonetheless she has no regrets about it and she is content with her life.
In her free time, Aditi loves to listen to songs that have deep meanings.
