Abhishek Sinha is the Co-founder and CEO of ‘GoodDot Enterprises Pvt Ltd’ based in Udaipur. It is India’s leading plant-based meat and vegan food manufacturing company that provides a wide range of vegan food that is cruelty-free.
Abhishek hails from Patna, Bihar. His father was a central government officer, due to which he traveled across the country and lived in different cities. He did his schooling from different schools in various cities like Patna, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad, and Chennai. He is a Chemical Engineer by education. He says that he was good at sports, in which Tennis was his favorite, and he even played it at the National level.
Recalling his childhood, Abhishek says that in his early days he had no idea about what to do in life. But he was very devoted to one thing, which was his love for animals and raising his voice for them.
Regarding his journey, Abhishek says that he was working as a Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax in the Indian Revenue Services in Udaipur. He resigned from this position in 2016. Going back to his engineering days, he says that in the final year of his engineering, he came to know about plant-based meat which does not hurt animals, and yet you can enjoy the authentic taste of meat. This shifted his focus to preventing animals from being killed. Moreover, after great research, he left his civil services job and carried out this work.
Talking about his role models, Abhishek says he considers his parents as his role models for instilling good values in him and giving a good upbringing to him. He also draws inspiration from Swami Vivekananda for his speeches, his literature, and his thought process.
Abhishek describes his struggles, Abhishek says that during his engineering days, he had many questions in his mind that he could not find answers to, which troubled him. He didn’t know what to do in life but he was not even sure whether what he was doing was right or not. Apart from this, clearing the Civil Services exam was no less than a struggle for him. Later on, the passion to do something for animals and leaving his civil services job to work for this cause was again a very critical decision to make.
Sharing his COVID experience, Abhishek says that COVID was an eye-opener for everyone. He says that even before the pandemic struck India, he used to write about it on LinkedIn and other platforms to warn people about this deadly disease. During its first wave, when migratory workers were heading towards their homes, he delivered more than forty-thousand meals to such people. He believes that COVID has made people understand the importance of their health and families and also brought everyone closer to their families.
In his spare time, Abhishek enjoys reading, interacting with his family, and spending more and more time with his child. He also loves giving time to his three pet dogs and being active on social media. Besides, he enjoys feeding animals and birds.
Advising youngsters, Abhishek says that life is much more important than a career. He advises them to introspect and understand deeply what satisfies them and what makes them content. So first of all try to identify where your interest lies, look within yourself, and find answers to your questions.
