Coming from a family of Kuchipudi artists, Abhinaya started dancing at a very young age and has spent a number of years honing her Kuchipudi dancing skills. She has had the opportunity to perform during a temple festival at the Ahobilam temple in Andhra Pradesh.

Abhinaya Nagajothy is a Kuchipudi artist. She is also a research scholar and the Secretary at Foundation for Developed India, New Delhi.

According to Abhinaya, the path of an artist is paved with uncertainty, introspection, and highs and lows. Every performance and every conversation with other artists has taught her something new. Her encounter with Padma Shri Geeta Chandran was inspirational and transformed her life. She is now attending JNU in Delhi to pursue a PhD. Her study focuses on the influence of social, religious, cultural, and societal interactions on dance forms, especially as it relates to the Bhagwat Mela Natakam.

She claims that her first gurus were her parents, who were both Kuchipudi performers. She grew up seeing her parents teach dance to their students since dance runs in her family. She thus began studying dancing at a very young age.

Recounting a priceless moment from her life, she states that at the age of five, she had the opportunity to perform her first Kuchipudi steps with her teacher at a lecture demonstration at the British Embassy. Since she is both teaching and learning from her pupils, she believes that learning is a never-ending process for artists.

Speaking about her achievements, Abhinaya says that she was thrilled to participate in a temple festival at the Ahobilam temple in Andhra Pradesh, where visitors travelled from all around to see the numerous acts. After her performance in the temple, a woman gave her a hundred rupee note. Given that it was her hard-earned money, that was one of the most heartfelt presents she could have received.

Abhinaya claims that she has been greatly motivated by her parents' commitment to and sincerity about their work. She gained knowledge from their difficulties. Her greatest influence, in addition to her parents and gurus, has been Padma Bhushan Late Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam, who revived Kuchipudi.

She enjoys listening to fine music, particularly Hindustani and Carnatic music. She is a fan of M. S. Subbulakshmi's music. She enjoys reading and travelling as well. She enjoys talking to her husband about everything.

Abhinaya prefers to withdraw herself and think back on her choices in order to find mental calm. She spends some time by herself thinking over any issues that are bothering her. She finds mental serenity in travelling and meditation.

Her secret to success is to be properly prepared. She believes in keeping in constant touch with teaching, performing, and reading.

She asserts that the most important trait for an artist to possess is humility. Since artists devote their entire life to their craft, she begs everyone to support them by attending their exhibitions and performances.
