Aspiring to provide quality education to commerce students, Abhinav has founded a coaching institute and is actively pursuing his passion for delivering excellent education to commerce students.

Abhinav Pokharna is the director and co-owner of Assets Commerce Academy, a coaching institute based in Udaipur.

From the higher secondary level to the master's degree level, Abhinav teaches accountancy at the coaching institute, where he also focuses on commerce courses for classes 11 and 12, competitive test courses like CA, CS, and CMA, and college courses in BCom and MCom.

Abhinav has completed his LLB and PG education at Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur. He did his schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya and represented his school at the state and national levels in cricket and music.

Talking about his journey, Abhinav mentions that he has been in the teaching profession for the last 8 years. After teaching at multiple levels, he decided to open his very own commerce coaching institute in 2017.

Discussing his struggles, Abhinav adds that there is stiff competition among commerce coaching institutes in Udaipur. Initially, they had to put in a lot of effort. Later, with the hard work of him and his team, they were able to establish themselves quite successfully in this competitive sector.

Abhinav discusses how the education field was highly impacted during the COVID-19 pandemic. As they adapted to the online coaching classes, sometimes they also struggled with communication and network connection issues. Online classes also meant that it was difficult to monitor students’ progress and conduct examinations fairly. Since the students were not strictly associated with education for a long period, coming back to regular classes proved to be a struggle for them. Once the government provided permission for educational institutions, the students found it very tough to cope with the long study hours, and it was equally challenging for the teachers to engage students during the sessions.

As a piece of advice to budding educators, Abhinav says that you must be passionate about imparting knowledge to students because it might be challenging to teach the same thing over and over again as a teacher. Qualifications and the method of delivery matter highly in this field. When it comes to teachers of professional courses like CA or CS, a teacher should be friendly and strict at the same time. In the end, results always matter, and they will come if you work hard with your students.

When it comes to education and experience, Abhinav is of the opinion that education is required for gaining subject knowledge and creating a foundation for decision-making, whereas experience is gained by putting your skills into continuous practice. He adds that while both are vital, starting with the foundation is essential.

Abhinav believes that he is a born leader. He had experience leading the school's cricket team, and thus, from a tender age, he led many teams. He believes that communication and coordination, along with compassion, humility, and teamwork capability with teammates, are the most important traits of a leader.

When asked about his life goals, Abhinav says that all he knows is how to teach students. He is very determined to teach his students with passion and by giving it his all.

Abhinav enjoys playing the guitar in his spare time. He also works as a freelance guitarist. When he has free time, he enjoys playing cricket and badminton.

Abhinav draws inspiration from the term ‘hard work.’ He believes that the more we work hard, the closer success is to us. He considers MS Dhoni his role model and admires how the former captain always handles situations with calm and understanding. He is the best example of teamwork and leadership, and Abhinav tries to inculcate the same skills in his life.
