Aabha Hanjura is a Kashmiri folk-pop singer, song writer, and live performer. She is also a record label founder, and she has been self-producing and self-releasing music for 10 years.
Moreover, Aabha has conducted live shows with her band all over the country. Her band is named 'Sophistication', which is an eclectic folk-pop band. Her idea is to spread joy and music amongst the crowds that listen to different and unique musical compositions. Most of the songs were composed by her. Her inspiration is from the folk music of Kashmir Valley, which is one of the key differentiators for her music and gives a different authentic and ethnic experience.
As the pandemic struck, Aabha re-formatted her shows for online live performances. She has been experimenting with various styles of music and writing during this period when her live shows were cancelled. Her music has been featured in the famous web series ‘The Family Man’ and also in a critically acclaimed movie. Her music has attracted 5 to 6 million views on YouTube.

She also received the Best Folk Fusion Artist Award from Hungama. She also won the Times Power Woman Award for excellence in music.
Aabha says life is not constant, and there is not a single way that life takes. In her opinion, life has good and bad moments, and one must accept life in all its vibrancy of colors, both dull and cheerful. One must keep going and never settle in life. Her advice is to become the best version of oneself.
Aabha has nurtured her music like her baby, but now she is also a mother to a real baby. According to her, it is a joyous experience and adds more beauty to life.
During her free time, Aabha likes watching TV and web series. OTT was her go-to during the pandemic. She also loves to read books and go on long drives. She also loves to be by herself with a cup of tea and watch the rain when it comes.
The COVID-19 pandemic has been very hard for her as a music composer, entrepreneur, and mother. All her shows were cancelled. She herself got infected with COVID. Her baby was infected too. She switched off all social media and did not amplify her anxiety during the situation, as misinformation led to panic during the worldwide pandemic. She practiced meditation to keep a calm mind. Positivity comes from within, and she feels that it has to be cultivated as an idea. However, during this time, she also discovered new talents and skills she possessed as a songwriter. She kept pushing her boundaries.
In her humble opinion, the pandemic has taught us that loved ones should not be taken for granted and that one must be grateful for what one has.
